I'm gunna tell you a story
about a girl who loves gin.
A national pandemic
ceased her birthday celebration.

Although she knew it was comin'
We tried not to tell her.
She brewed some Irish Breakfast tea
she knew her birthday was getting Corona'd.

It was like those Hallmark movies that she liked to watch,
Once a passive viewer, now she's part of the plot.

But there's no contagion or disease
that will stop us from singing today.
One too many lonely days till we can see you again.

She tries to shake it off
She's losing track of the days,
since she's been dancing to the music
blaring from the Renegade.

And in the morning she lays,
with her memories departed
of heavy college weeks bookended
with long trips to Busch Gardens.

It was like those hockey games with no time on the clock. (?)
By the time she turned her head, the Caps had won the Cup.

Guess those things that caused her pain,
they worked out in the end.
'Cept the time she pulled her groceries back
in a snowstorm on a sled.
